While previously the city would sell old street signs for $25 each on a first-come, first-serve basis at its annual Community Festival, this year for the first time Lakewood is auctioning off the collector items online.
In terms of neighborly bidding wars, that’s exactly what’s taking place on Northland Avenue and Rockaway Avenue where the price of the respective street signs is at $27 each.
As for interest in the street signs, Papke said they’re popular.
