eBay officially released an announcement regarding the launch of eBay Live which is expected to be a dedicated platform that provides users a way to purchase products through a live setting. This means that sellers can showcase the products live, streamers can choose to buy them, and the seller can acknowledge the buyer live during the stream.

As per the announcement, the feature is still in beta mode this month, and the company's "first live shopping event will offer a curated selection of rare trading cards from eBay seller Bleecker Trading."

For those that are interested to see how the new eBay Live platform plays out, the first event is scheduled to happen on June 22 at 3 PM ET. Shoppers will be able to see a number of different collectibles which include a 1995 Topps Finest Michael Jordan M1 Red Bordered Refractor PSA 9 MINT as well as a 1998 Kobe Bryant Skybox That's Jam PSA 10.

With high PSA ratings, the condition of the trading cards is expected to be in better condition. Buyers will have to watch the livestream event in order to find out what other trading cards are being put up for sale.

Although eBay Live is still in its beta phase, it is still expected to provide a more streamlined, entertaining, and sophisticated way for people to connect, buy, and sell within the community.

Other Companies and Platforms that Plan to Add Livestream Selling

According to the story by Tech Crunch, eBay will be the latest platform that allows its users to enter the live shopping space. Other platforms that already support this type of selling style include YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and even Pinterest.

YouTube announced back in March that they plan to launch a live shopping experience for their users. They provided a sneak peek in a video detailing how shopping on the platform would work.

Twitter also announced that it would be doing the same and provide its users with a platform to start livestream shopping as well.
