eBay is changing the Authenticity Guarantee program in the Sneakers category by making available free shipping labels to sellers and charging buyers a flat fee of $14.
Changing the seller protection program could provide sellers an incentive to use the shipping labels, since eBay told sneaker sellers : "When you use eBay’s shipping label, we’ll also provide you with loss and damage protections if anything goes wrong during the first leg of shipping to the authenticator.
"
If eBay is indeed pressuring sellers to use FedEx shipping labels, some sellers may be wondering how they'll get their orders to FedEx.
The change applies only to items sold through the Authenticity Guarantee program (sellers send such orders to be authenticated before the item is forwarded to the buyer after authentication).
"Previously, we looked for evidence showing at least the city or zip code of the address, however now we will look for evidence of shipment to the full address," eBay wrote about the new seller protection policy.

Another wrote, "I'm not sure how eBay expects to get street-specific proof of delivery (from USPS, at least), regardless of whether it's the seller or buyer who's being challenged for proof beyond simply the City and ZIP shown in tracking.
eBay will only protect sellers from claims of non-delivery for items sent to its authenticators if they use a tracked shipping service showing the authenticator's address, according to sellers who received a notification email from eBay.
